Overview
Sri Maha Periyava repeatedly emphasized the importance of giving foremost priority to Pitru Aradhana—the worship of one’s ancestors. Following the divine path shown by the Kanchi Mahaswamigal, Amavasya Pitru Pooja is performed every month at sacred kshetras such as Kasi and Rameswaram. On these holy occasions, Pitru Pooja, Brahmana Bhojanam, and Annadanam are conducted with due Vedic procedures. This initiative especially benefits those who are unable to perform tarpana, tithi, or other pitru karmas regularly, enabling them to participate and receive the spiritual fruits through collective worship.
